Arson charges have been laid after a fire at the Maitland Woods trail system.
Monday June 22nd, just after 4:30 pm, Huron OPP officers were called by a hiker in the woods who said that someone had started a fire in an area off Parsons Court.
Officers arrived to find the suspect sitting by the fire he had started, which was burning foliage and downed tree branches.
The 29 year old man, of no fixed address was arrested and charged with arson damage to property and failing to comply with a probation and release order.
The Goderich Fire Department was called in to put out the fire.
