Work on the Black Bridge on Matthiasville Road is set to get underway this week.
The Town of Bracebridge has announced that it awarded a construction contract to McPhersonAndrews Contracting Limited for replacement of the Black Bridge on Matthiasville Road.
The Black Bridge is a 98-year old structural steel truss bridge located over the south branch of the Muskoka River–approximately one kilometre north east of Highway 118 East.
A bridge inspection conducted in 2016 concluded that the Black Bridge had reached the end of its useful service life and should be replaced.
The project will begin today and hopes to be finished by this fall.
