Toronto and Peel Region can enter the Stage 2 reopening phase on Wednesday.
The announcement came via Premier Doug Ford today.
Ford says it’s due to lowest number of cases in three months.
For the eighth straight day, Ontario has seen under 200 Covid-19 cases.
Ford says the Toronto and Peel regions can enter Stage 2 this Wednesday at midnight, but Windsor-Essex can’t.
“No one wants to see every region of Ontario open more than I do, but we have to do it right,” said Ford. And unfortunately the threat of this virus right now in Windsor-Essex is still too great.”
The Premier adds that consultations continue daily for the best available medical advice in order to make the right decisions for Ontario.
We have consulted with our medical experts and are pleased to announce that as of Wednesday, June 24 at 12:01AM City of Toronto and Peel Region will enter Stage 2.https://t.co/PCPDSjjOUq pic.twitter.com/3TqII5Z9xH
