A male youth was rescued by first responders yesterday after falling off a cliff at Eugenia Falls Conservation Area in Grey Highlands.
Grey Bruce OPP, Grey County paramedics and members of the Grey Highlands and the Blue Mountains Fire Departments were called to the incident just prior to 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon.
Police say the young person was walking with his friends when he lost his footing and fell down the rock face into a cavern below.
First responders spent several hours navigating the steep cliffs and were able to safely rescue the youth from the bottom of Eugenia Falls.
The male youth was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
In a twitter post, the Grey Highlands Fire Department says this incident is “a very real reminder that serious accidents can happen quickly, please observe the posted signs and stay on the marked trails.”
