Royal Victoria Hospital (RVH) in Barrie has received nearly $1.5 million from the County of Simcoe as part of its ongoing support of local healthcare.
It’s the latest installment in the County’s $5.6 million pledge which supports the Simcoe Muskoka Child and Youth Mental Health Program.
Janice Skot, RVH’s president and CEO says during these uncertain times during the pandemic, it’s more important than ever to keep investing in programs and services for the future.
Simcoe County Warden George Cornell adds that the County’s contributions have so far enhanced care, medical equipment and treatment options.
This recent funding will ensure that mental health services are available to vulnerable populations, including the more than 1,500 children and youth who have accessed care through RVH’s inpatient program to-date.
