Orillia OPP are investigating after an attempted bike robbery on the rail trial in Oro Medonte.
On Sunday between 2 and 3 pm, the victim was riding his bike on the rail trail between Lines 13 and 14.
The victim stopped his bike to service it – that’s when two suspects walked out of a bush area on the east side of the trail and started talking with him.
They then surrounded the victim and demanded his bike.
He refused and tried to get away. One of the suspects then pulled a knife and once again demanded the victim turn over his bike.
The victim then saw two witnesses approaching and he yelled out for help.
The two suspects backed away and the victim was able to escape without injury on his bike.
The suspects are described as:
Male #1 – 5’11”, slim build, soft voice wearing a black hoodie, black track pants and a black ski mask
Male #2 – 6’4″, husky build, deep voice wearing a black hoodie, black track pants and a black ski mask
