More areas of Ontario are set to enter the Stage 2 reopening phase this Friday.
Today, Premier Doug Ford announced that Durham, Hamilton, York, Halton, Niagara, Haldimand-Norfolk and Sarnia-Lambton County can reopen then.
Areas such as Toronto, Peel and Windsor-Essex remain in Stage 1.
Today was the lowest day over day increase in cases of Covid-19 since late March.
Over 1 million tests have also been processed so far in Ontario. All of this has helped some new regions get to stage 2 today.
“This will mean more people going back to work at restaurants, bars, beauty salons, shopping malls and many other businesses big and small in those regions,” said Ford.
Ford says if we keep working together, he hopes all areas of the Province can get to Stage 2 soon.

Locally, 28 of Ontario’s 34 public health units are reporting five or fewer cases, with 18 of them reporting no new cases at all. 126 of today’s 181 new cases, or 70%, are from Toronto and Peel.
