An Owen Sound Police shoplifting investigation on Friday led to drug trafficking charges against one person.
City Police say just after 3 p.m. Friday they received information about a male and female shoplifting at an upper east side grocery store.
Shortly after, police stopped a taxi carrying the two suspects as it headed out of town.
Police say a 50-year-old male and 34-year-old female, both from Georgian Bluffs, were investigated and subsequently arrested for theft under $5,000.
In addition, police say they located a substantial amount of methamphetamine in the female's possession.
Both suspects were charged theft, while the female also faces a drug trafficking related offence.
