A $14 billion restart agreement between the Federal government and the Provinces is in the works.
PM Justin Trudeau says it will cover the next 6-8 months as the economy reopens.
The Federal money will go towards things like more personal protective equipment (PPE) for frontline workers and average Canadians, childcare and money for seniors.
Sick pay of up to 10 days for workers without benefits and support for municipalities and cities are also part of the plan.
“I’m looking forward to working with the Premiers to make this happen,” said Trudeau.
A $600 one-time non-taxable payment is also coming for people with disabilities.
Today the PM also announced a national workplace accessibility stream to help Canadians with disabilities find jobs.
I’m announcing support for people with disabilities, giving an update on the work we’re doing with provinces and territories to safely restart our economy, and more. Tune in now for all the details: https://t.co/vyDYpwbgAh
