The answering machine for an Oliphant resident was jammed yesterday by phone calls from across Canada.
Al Bamford says there were at least 100 calls on the answering machine from people across the country wondering why the Bamford's had called them.
Upon contacting Bell Canada, Bamford was told that somebody, somehow, had acquired the Bamford's phone number ( 519-534-2825 ) and that number was flashed on call display for the numerous calls that were placed.
Bamford says Bell offered the Bamford's two options;
1) contact Federal Communications and explain the situation
or 2) change the phone number.
Bamford, speaking to Bayshore Broadcasting, relates he'd rather keep the existing phone number than change.
