Provincial Police have charged a 21-year-old with mischief after an odd incident at a Mount Forest golf course.
OPP say they were called to a possible theft of a golf cart in progress near Mount Forest early Saturday afternoon.
Police say an individual had been playing golf then decided to drive the golf cart off of the course and onto the highway, appearing to be making away with it.
The owner of the golf course confronted them and observed significant damage to the front of the golf cart. Police say the owner requested the individual return to the clubhouse to deal with the issue — but the accused decided to abandon the golf cart and leave on foot.
Grey Bruce OPP officers attended the golf course and apprehended the suspect after a brief foot pursuit.
A 21-year-old from Gravenhurst is charged with mischief, destroy or damage property.
The accused is due to make an appearance in an Owen Sound courtroom in August.
