A Friday night tradition in Wasaga Beach is no more.
The Wasaga Beach Lions Club has announced that its Friday night Bingo at the RecPlex is cancelled permanently.
The club states that bingo started on August 18, 1964 and over those 56 years, the club was able to donate 2.5 million dollars to various community projects.
The Lions Club says it had been seeing a decline in attendance at bingo over the last five years.
The club adds that closing bingo was inevitable, but COVID-19 forced its hand to make the move now.
