Goderich’s Mayor says the town could recover up to $200 thousand a year, by placing parking meters at the town’s beaches.
After years of discussions, town council has voted to move ahead with paid parking at the beachfront, although Mayor John Grace says there has been no decision yet on fees.
Grace says he would prefer to see free parking Monday to Thursday, with paid parking Friday through Sunday.
Council is expected to make that decision in the coming weeks.
Grace says any money recovered through parking we be used to pay for maintenance, by-law enforcement, and the upkeep of grounds.
