More health-care providers are being allowed to gradually reopen following a months-long shutdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Chiropractors, physiotherapists, psychologists, dieticians, denturists, and midwives are among those included on the list, which was released yesterday as part of a new order from the province’s chief medical officer of health.
All regulated health professionals were ordered to cease all non-essential or elective work on March 19, 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Health care providers are still encouraged to limit the number of in-person visits and they must comply with the requirements set out by the Ontario government.
Some of the guidelines include screening patients with questions over the phone before they come in and setting up plexiglass barriers at reception desks.
