A 46-year-old Barrie man faces charges related to a Toronto vehicle theft.
On Tuesday around 4pm, police in Bracebridge recognized a white Dodge Charger Hellcat that was stolen back in April.
It was being driven in the area of Monck Road and Wellington Street in Bracebridge.
Police say the driver fled on foot when the vehicle was stopped in a parking lot, leaving a passenger behind in police custody.
The OPP Canine Unit was called and police searched for the driver, who has been identified as a man from New Tecumseth, but they couldn’t find him.
Police have charged a 46 year old Barrie man with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and possession of property obtained by crime under $5000.
He’s set to appear in Bracebridge Court August 4th to answer to his charges.
