COVID-19 testing is being expanded for residents of Huron County.
Health officials say those in the region with one symptom of the novel coronavirus are eligible for testing, along with anyone who has had contact with a confirmed or suspected case.
Those at risk of contracting COVID-19 through their employment (healthcare, grocery, and other essential workers) are also eligible for the expanded testing.
Huron County residents are encouraged to use the province’s online assessment tool, and to contact their family doctor about scheduling a test.
If you do not have a family doctor, you can call Huron Perth Public Health at 1-888-221-2133 ext. 3267.
In mid-April, a drive-thru testing centre for COVID-19 was opened in Goderich’s Knights of Columbus Hall.
Swab testing is done outside, beneath the covered drive-up doorway of the facility, with patrons remaining in their vehicles.
