Free transit service in Barrie will continue until July 2nd.
The City announced the extension of free service today.
Buses will continue to run between 5:30 am and 12:30 am Monday to Saturday and 9 am to 11 pm Sundays.
The downtown bus terminal remains closed until further notice.
Increased safety measures are also in effect:
The new measures include personal protective equipment for drivers, hand sanitizer dispensers on buses, plexiglass operator shields on select buses – this is expected for the entire fleet in the next few weeks.
Passengers are also encouraged to wear non-medical face masks.
Boarding continues at the back doors and only 15 passengers will be allowed per trip.
