Bruce County library members will soon be able to pick up and drop off books.
Branches are still closed to the public but a media release says the library has organized a service that will allow people to safely borrow materials from all 17 branches without entering the buildings.
Starting on Tuesday June 2nd, you will be able to place orders for curbside pickup by calling or emailing your local branch, or by filling out a form on the library website.
You can request specific materials, or staff can pack a grab bag based on books the you've read or genres you enjoy. You can also borrow DVDs and other materials.
A maximum of 10 titles can be requested at once, and a maximum of 10 items can be checked out at a time.
When the library has gathered the requested materials, the they'll contact you to arrange a pickup time.
Curbside Pickup hours will be the following:
Tuesday 4 to 8pm
Wednesday 12 to 4pm
Thursday 4 to 8pm
Friday 12 to 4pm
Saturday 10am to 1pm
Returns can be placed in the book drop at any of the library’s 17 branches.
All returned materials will be isolated for the recommended 72 hours before being
checked in. There will be no fines for late materials during this period.
Meanwhile, for those with smartphones and internet access, the library has plenty of online resources including e-books, audiobooks, a streaming TV and movie platform, you tube channel, online access to magazines through the Flipster App including HGTV magazine, Car & Driver, Canadian Geographic, Men's Health, Popular Science The Walrus and more.
The library also hosts live online trivia events on specific days of the week for both adults and kids.
