Before it was all over, a residence had been broken into and two vehicles were stolen.
OPP say they have two suspects in custody after events which started around 9 am this morning in Essa Twp.
A homeowner had reported a break and enter in progress at a residence in the area of 9th line and County Road 90.
They’d been awakened during the break-in and a vehicle was stolen from the property.
Police caught up with the suspects at Highway 27 south of County Road 90 – a female was taken into custody there, while a male fled on foot and eventually stole another vehicle and took it to Barrie.
Police arrested him in the area of Ferndale Drive and Edgehill Drive.
Police say there is no threat to public safety and the investigation continues.
