When economic recovery begins in Canada, every worker will have 10 days of paid sick leave per year.
That from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau this morning as he addressed new measures the government is taking to help battle the financial impacts of Covid-19.
“Nobody should have to choose between taking a day off work due to illness or having to pay their bills,” he said.
The Federal government will work out the details with the Provinces in the near future.
In the meantime, a new hotline to provide financial advice to businesses has been announced.
The government is working with the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in setting up the new line which will be operated by financial advisors and accountants
By calling 1-866-989-1080, you will be able to access the advice you need.
And addressing tax season, Trudeau said that those who had to submit their T3 or T2 forms in June, July or August, will now have until September 1st to do so.
