Speeding was the top issue during Canada Road Safety Week in Huron County.
The traffic safety initiative that ran from May 12th through the 18th targeted the Big 4 causal factors in serious collisions: impaired driving, lack of seatbelt use, aggressive and distracted driving.
Speeding has become a problem during the pandemic on our roads and Huron County OPP officers caught 110 drivers for going well over the posted speed limit.
Two drivers were charged for being impaired, one for distracted driving, and 5 for not wearing a seatbelt.
Seven collisions were reported and a motorcyclist was killed in a crash on May 13th.
