Nottawasaga OPP is issuing a warning about an Alectra Utilities phone scam.
Police say the phone scammers pose as representatives of the utility company and tell the victim that their electrical service will be disconnected if they don’t provide payment.
Customers are then asked to buy prepaid credit cards and call a specific phone number to provide the card and pin number.
People are asked to contact Alectra directly if they get one of these calls.
