Kincardine has opened its boat launches, the boardwalk and any portion of the trail system that goes along the shore.
The Kincardine Marina is open only for members of the Kincardine Yacht Club to start preparing for the season and boat owners to start working on their boats.
All beaches, any structures on the beach and piers are still closed.
In a media release, the Town explains on May 20th, Kincardine Council requested Grey-Bruce Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Arra, rescind his order to close beaches as it pertains to the Municipality of Kincardine. Council wants to be able to enact its own bylaws should it wish to close the beaches under its control.
The closure order remains in effect at this time.
As of today, Kincardine has also opened the following:
Kindog Off Leash Dog Park
Skate park at the Davidson Centre
Tennis Courts
Outdoor walking track at the Davidson Centre
Benches, picnic areas and shelters
Baseball diamonds, soccer fields
The municipality is reminding residents the Provincial Order is still in place regarding any social gathering of more than five people.
