Owen Sound is reopening its municipal boat launches.
It's due to the Provincial announcement that some restrictions would be lifted as part of the first stage of the reopening framework.
Three public launches are open for use as of Saturday:
- The West Side Boat Launch
- The East Side Boat Launch
- The East Bayshore Road (RCA) Boat Launch
The city encourages boaters and anglers to practice physical distancing guidelines while fishing and using boat launch amenities.
Garbage cans are provided at the boat launch areas. Anglers are asked to dispose of all masks, gloves and protective gear in the receptacles provided.
City Parks and Trails remain open for public use, but many of the recreational amenities within remain closed including all public washrooms, benches, basketball court and playgrounds. The tennis court at Harrison Park is open for use by the public beginning Tuesday, May 19.
