Muskoka Lakes has approved its 2020 budget.
Council approved it this morning in a virtual meeting in a 7-3 vote.
It carries $16.7 million ($16,719,42) in operating expenditures.
The budget will see a slight tax increase with an additional $4.34 for a typical residential property valued at $500,000.
Mayor Phil Harding says the budget is the result of a long hard look by council and staff.
“It works out to a 0.7 percent net levy increase over last year,” he said. “Some people, knowing the tax rate with the province and education going down, many people will actually have a reduction in taxes going forward this year.”
The year-over-year tax rate for general services will decrease by 1.43 percent.
