Two people are facing several drug and weapons charges, after a speeding vehicle was stopped in Essa Township.
Police say they were conducting speed enforcement in the area of Centre Street and 5th Line yesterday morning, when a vehicle sped by and was stopped as a result.
Both the driver and passenger were taken into custody.
Officers seized cocaine, firearms and ammunition.
-25-year-old Dallas DOYLE, of Barrie, has been charged with:
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, contrary to s.91(1) CC;
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm, contrary to s 92(1) CC;
- Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm, contrary to s.91(1) CC;
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Weapon, contrary to s. 92(2) CC;
- Possession of Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm, contrary to s.95(a) CC;
- Tampering with serial number of a Firearm, contrary to s.108(1)(a) CC; and
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance-Cocaine, contrary to s.4(1) CDSA.
-29-year-old David GLOVER, of Essa Township, has been charged with:
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, contrary to s.91(1) CC;
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm, contrary to s 92(1) CC;
- Unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm, contrary to s.91(1) CC;
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Weapon, contrary to s. 92(2) CC;
- Possession of Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm, contrary to s.95(a) CC;
- Tampering with serial number of a Firearm, contrary to s.108(1)(a) CC;
- Possession of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order, contrary to s.117.01(1) CC;
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order, contrary to s.733.1(1) CC; and
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance-Cocaine, contrary to s.4(1) CDSA.
