Owen Sound police have arrested a 24 year old local man after a drive through employee reported he had open alcohol in his car.
Police say it happened at about 4 Tuesday (May 4th) afternoon.
According to police, an employee at an east side fast food restaurant noticed the driver might be impaired when he pulled through for his order.
Officers arrived to investigate and found the vehicle in the restaurant parking lot.
They say when they spoke to him, he was showing signs of impairment.
According to police, a road side screening device was used and the man registered a ‘fail.’
The driver was arrested and brought to the police station where they say measured almost two times the legal limit of alcohol in his body.
He is charged with impaired driving and his vehicle has been impounded for 7 days and his licence is suspended for 90.
He has a court date on July 9th in Owen Sound.
