You’ll be able to pick up some flowers for Mother’s Day at garden centres and nurseries this Friday.
Premier Doug Ford has announced more reopenings to help the economy regain a footing.
Ford says as of Friday at 12:01 am garden centres and nurseries will be allowed to reopen to provide in-store payments and purchases. (They were already allowed to provide curbside deliveries at the start of this week.)
As well, on Saturday at 12:01 am, hardware and safety supply stores will be allowed to reopen for the same, as long as the businesses follow strict measures like physical distancing, contact-less payment options and sanitation of surfaces.
Essential construction will also move ahead with demolition work and multi-unit construction in above grade projects.
And, for non-essential businesses, Monday will see retail stores with a street entrance be allowed to start providing curbside deliveries.
“I want to be clear,” stressed Ford. “All public health measures remain in place and will be strictly enforced. We cant take the progress we’ve made for granted.”
Ford says Ontario is at the start of a long journey of recovery.
He says future reopening’s must also be gradual, measured and safe.
We are moving ahead on the path to reopen Ontario’s economy.
