The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit (SMDHU) is reporting 11 new cases of Covid-19 in the region.
One new case is a woman in her 90s in Huntsville.
A new Covid-19 outbreak has also been declared in Huntsville at Chartwell Muskoka Traditions Retirement Home.
The other cases include six new ones in Barrie, three of which are outbreak-related, while two are still under investigation.
In Bradford West Gwillimbury, a male in his 50s has come down with the virus and it’s a community acquired case.
Another new community acquired case is in New Tecumseth – it’s a woman in her 20s.
A man in his 30s has also contracted the virus in Clearview Township – it’s a community acquired case too.
Little is known about yet another case, listed as a woman in her 20s, but how she acquired it and where she is from is still listed as under investigation.
There are currently 7 active Covid-19 outbreaks at Long Term Care Facilities or retirement homes in the region.
Three more deaths are being reported today too. All of them are in Barrie.
