Good news is coming for Ontario’s economy.
That’s the message from Premier Doug Ford today who says he’s focused on opening things up in phases as soon as it becomes safe to do so.
Today the Province started preparing businesses and workplaces for how to be ready when the green light comes.
Over 65 sector specific guidelines have been prepared to help them when it does.
It was also announced that an additional 58 people will join Provincial labour inspectors who will help enforce emergency measures and advise on the just released safety guidelines.
“Today we are on the path to reopening the economy because the curve is flattening,” said Ford. “The surge in our hospitals – we avoided it. That trend is going down. There is a light at the end of the tunnel.”
The new guidelines include things like ways employers can ensure physical distancing, increasing air intake on building heating and promoting proper workplace sanitation.

In future weeks more update advice will come for businesses, pledged the Premier.
Thanks to our collective efforts we are on the path to reopening the economy. In partner with Ontario’s health and safety associations we provided over 60 new guidelines for employers and businesses to use to protect their staff and customers. https://t.co/MTUQon2D35 pic.twitter.com/dJly1RKk0z
