We aren’t there yet.
Today, Federal health officials released new forecast modelling that predicts 53 to 67 thousand cases of Coronavirus in Canada by May 5.
The predictions say there could be 33 to 39 hundred deaths by May 5.
The officials say that for the virus to die out, each positive case must infect less than one other person.
In March, each person transmitted the virus to two people and now it is just above one person.
Health officials say we need to maintain a high level of physical distancing, need more case tracing and quarantine to get to where we need to be according to these new predictions.
