Looks like Grey County residents are going to have to hang on to their old paint cans, propane tanks and other hazardous waste for awhile longer.
Owen Sound city staff advise household hazardous waste days planned until the end of June have been cancelled. They were scheduled to take place April 18, May 23 and June 20.
The Public Works Facility in Owen Sound will not be opening to accept materials.
The service is normally available to Owen Sound, Chatsworth, Meaford, Georgian Bluffs, West Grey and Grey Highlands residents.
There are still five household hazardous waste days scheduled in 2020, for now, from July through October.
Meantime, Owen Sound has also cancelled Goods Exchange Days that were planned on May 30 and July 25.
“The City apologizes for any inconvenience this may have caused and thank residents for their understanding,” a release from city hall explains.
The only remaining Goods Exchange Day still scheduled this year is Sept. 26, 2020.
