A 45-year-old Barrie woman has been charged, after hosting a birthday party during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Barrie Police spokesman Peter Leon say the party was held on Saturday night and attended by 11 people- six household members and five guests.
Since that goes against the emergency order that’s in place across the province, which bans gatherings of more than five people (who don’t live in the same household), the woman was charged under the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act.
She received a $750 fine.
Happy birthday!
