A 24-year-old Barrie man has been arrested, after a police chase in Essa Township.
On Sunday, police were called to investigate a suspicious vehicle near Burwick Crescent and when officers attempted to stop the driver, he allegedly took off.
Police say he ended up losing control and collided with a light standard at George Johnson Road and Highway 26.
The driver was taken to hospital to be treated for minor injuries and is now facing several charges, including flight from police, impaired driving, theft of a vehicle, and failing to comply with a probation order
The SIU has been called in to investigate.
