Owen Sound Police have arrested and charged a 27-year-old man after he was allegedly jumping in a downtown street with a compound bow in hand early this morning.
City Police say a “very concerned citizen” contacted them at about 4:45 a.m. Friday, after observing the male in the 900 block of 1st Avenue East.
Police say upon arrival, the man could not be located in the immediate area. Officers searched the downtown core and found the 27-year-old in the 200 block of 10th Street East.
Owen Sound Police say the man appeared to be under the influence of an unknown substance.
He was arrested and taken into custody without incident. According to police, the Owen Sound man was found in possession of a compound bow with an arrow, along with large hunting knife fixed to his belt and a collapsible baton in his pocket.
Police say man told officers upon his arrest he was “just going hunting”.
The 27-year-old suspect, who has not been named by police, is facing a weapons charge. He is scheduled to make a court appearance in June.
