Premier Doug Ford says Ontario Covid-19 job losses are “a punch in the gut”, but plans are in the works to restore them.
Today the Province launched an Ontario Job Loss and Recovery Committee whose mission will be to chart a path after the virus is contained.
Ford says at least 400,000 jobs were lost last month in Ontario alone:
The new committee’s members will include Minister of Health and Deputy Premier Christine Elliot, Minister of Economic Development Vic Fedeli and Minister of Transportation Caroline Mulroney among others.
Their first priority will be future job creation and protecting Ontario from future threats.
They’ll also look for advice from economists and workers and entrepreneurs who are struggling due to the virus.
