Clearview Township council will have some tough decisions to make in the near future.
That was the message today (Tuesday) from the township’s Chief Administrative Officer to council during a special meeting held electronically.
Steve Sage says senior staff will be making some recommendations for council to consider regarding staffing needs and any necessary changes.
Sage says that usually at this time of year, the township hires about 20 staff to work road and water construction projects.
The township will have to review what projects are essential and the “fallout” from that.
During the CAO’s update, it was also mentioned that Fire Hall Station One remains closed and will be for 7 or 8 more days.
Steve Sage says a few days ago, it was thought that a firefighter at the station in Stayner may have COVID-19 and therefore the entire station was closed as a precaution.
Sage confirms the firefighter has tested negative for the Coronavirus, but the 14 day isolation period continues.
Also at this meeting, council voted in favour of giving 10 thousand dollars to the Clearview Stayner Food Bank. The money is to come from the Community Association Fund.
