Trump Conference Call
United States President Donald Trump believes the 2020 NFL season will be able to start on time.
In a conference call with major league sports commissioners regarding COVID-19 on the weekend, Trump said he believes the NFL season should commence in September as scheduled.
Trump, also said he hopes to have fans back in stadiums and arenas by August and September.
The conference call included a dozen major sports commissioners and top executives discussing the impact of coronavirus.
Dempsey Dies
Tom Dempsey, the former NFL kicker born without toes on his kicking foot who made a league record 63-yard field goal, died over the weekend while struggling with complications from the new coronavirus.
Dempsey was 73.
Relatives say Dempsey tested positive for the coronavirus a little more than a week ago.
Dempsey’s game-winning field goal for New Orleans against Detroit on Nov. 8, 1970, stood as an NFL record for 43 years
He spent 11 seasons in the NFL with New Orleans, Philadelphia, the Los Angeles Rams, Houston & finally with with Buffalo.
RedBlacks Salary Cuts
The Ottawa RedBlacks of the Canadian Football League are reducing salaries of all employees by 20 per cent, although there are no layoffs by the RedBlacks at this point.
The RedBlacks are the 4th known team in the CFL to make reductions to either salaries or staff
Major League Baseball In Spring Training Camps
Major League Baseball is considering starting its season in empty Spring Training ballparks in Florida and Arizona,
The logistics for the suggested plan are complex, including quarantining all 30 teams in one area
This proposal would require local, state and federal government cooperation and resources that might be necessary to fight the coronavirus pandemic.
In soccer, the Premier League is considering completing its season by quarantining teams in one part of England, while the NBA is reportedly exploring playing out its postseason exclusively in Las Vegas to reduce travel in the face of the coronavirus pandemic.
Premier League Soccer in June ?
English Premier Soccer Clubs were informed late last week to begin preparing for a potential June return which would include a form of a training camp.
Reports late last week related talks with the British government were aimed at a June return without fans

WNBA Delayed
The WNBA has postponed the start of its season because of the coronavirus pandemic.
There's no indication when play in the Women's Pro Basketball League would begin.
The league was scheduled to open training camps April 26 and their 24th regular season was set to begin May 15
