Two sudden deaths reported at Spencer House long term care home in Orillia Friday were not Covid-19 related.
The confirmation came from the Simcoe-Muskoka District Health Unit’s Dr. Charles Gardner today, who says there are no positive COVID test results at Spencer House and that the 2 people who died had underlying medical conditions.
On Friday it was reported there were 18 probable cases amongst staff at the facility, but none of those tests have come back positive.
The Health units says there are currently two tests outstanding.
Concern mounted last week after a staff member tested positive for Covid-19 at the facility last Wednesday.
This individual is said to have worked at the facility while infectious for more than a day but less than a week.
