The Bruce-Grey Child & Family Services are appealing to citizens of the two counties to provide thermometers.
Phyllis Lovell, the Executive Director of Bruce-Grey Child & Family Services, explained the need for thermometers is high among the families they attend to.
Lovell states thermometers were bought en masse in local stores and are not available on-line, thus creating a shortage for their catchment area.
The best type of thermometer to provide is what Lovell describes as a simple, functional digital thermometer that can be cleaned at the tip by an alcohol based cleanser for multiple use within a family.
Lovell describes the thermometers as vital to family health in the region as it can determine how sick a family member is and by ongoing use can determine if that family member is getting sicker.
Those with thermometers available can drop them off at one of 2 locations for Bruce-Grey Child & Family Services;
640 Second Avenue east in downtown Owen Sound or at their location on McGovern Street in Walkerton.
