A 30-year-old Orillia man has been charged with assaulting police and resisting arrest after an incident on Peter Street.
OPP say they were investigating a probation breach today when the suspect struggled with them while resisting arrest and assaulted two officers. He then fled and climbed onto the roof of a nearby plaza.
Police successfully negotiated with the man and he surrendered without incident.
The man is in custody and is set for a bail hearing on March 24th.
He’s been charged with two counts of assaulting an officer, intent to resist arrest, breach of probation and breach of a recognizance.
