Local service industry businesses are being asked to complete a survey on the impacts of COVID-19 so the Province can look at helping them.
Grey County has posted a link to it online saying, “Without this data, the province cannot adequately determine the amount of financial support needed by the tourism operators in the region.”
That includes any restaurants, bars, hotels, museums, retail or entertainment businesses.
Lisa MacLeod, Minister of Heritage, Sport, Tourism and Culture Industries and the
Tourism Industry Association of Ontario are asking for the feedback from across the province.
The survey asks about cancellations, lay-offs and temporary or permanent closures caused by COVID-19.
So far, Grey County doesn't have the numbers for how many businesses have temporarily closed here due to COVID-19, but it would include any restaurants that are not doing takeout, bars, many cafes, theatres, concert, sports and event venues, retail stores, hotels, and resorts like Blue Mountain Resort and Cobble Beach.
Grey County is asking businesses to take a moment to complete the survey, email it to their members and share it with their partners and stakeholders.
The survey will close at 8 a.m. on Monday March 23.
