A man who died at RVH just over a week ago, died from COVID-19.
A coroner’s report has confirmed COVID-19 was the cause of death for the 77 year old man, who passed away at the hospital on March 11.
The man had close contact with another man in the Barrie area, who tested positive for COVID-19– a man from Alberta who remains in serious condition.
As of Thursday, March 19, 2020, Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit says it currently has 5 confirmed and 17 probable cases of COVID-19 including 1 death.
