In 2019, West Grey issued 291 building permits with a construction value of 40 million dollars ($39,983,225)
That is 9.3 million dollars more than the previous year.
Mayor Christine Robinson says the there was good mix of growth across the municipality.
New residential led the way with 21 million dollars worth of construction value followed by 5.8 million in new agriculture builds, 3.7 million in multi residential, 2.5 million in residential renovations and additions, 1.9 million in commercial renovations and additions and almost a million dollars in institutional additions and renovations.

She says the investment in West Grey is certainly welcome and indicative of this administration’s commitment to building this community.
She says the return of building services to West Grey was a response to the increased activity and the focus on providing excellent customer service.
This includes a new feature that allows residents and developers the option to apply for building permits online.
Robinson says West Grey is growing and says there is every indication that the building department will be just as busy this year, especially as the new subdivisions progress.
