A school bus driver has been charged with a Highway Traffic Act offence after a collision involving a bus and a car in Arran-Elderslie yesterday.
Provincial Police say officers were called to Concession 2 and B-Line, east of Port Elgin, just before 4 p.m. Monday afternoon and arrived to find a bus and a car had collided.
Bruce County paramedics and Tara Fire Department firefighters were also on scene.
OPP say investigation revealed the bus had pulled in the path of the car, that was heading northbound on B-Line.
No students on the bus, or the school bus driver, were injured. Police say the driver of the car was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
A 43-year-old Arran-Elderslie resident who was driving the school bus was charged with start from stopped position – not in safety.
