The Owen Sound Attack needed nearly every second on the game clock, but they pulled off a big road win in Windsor.
Kaleb Pearson was the hero, scoring with 1.8 seconds remaining in overtime at the Attack clipped the Spitfires 3-2 Thursday night in Ontario Hockey League action at the WFCU Centre.
The Attack (30-22-4-4) swept a mid-week road trip at Flint and Windsor, and pulled within two points of the Guelph Storm (31-21-3-5) for sixth in the Western Conference.
Matthew Struthers and Mark Woolley also scored for Owen Sound, which jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period.
Curtis Douglas had both goals for Windsor, including a late tying goal with 1:02 left in regulation to send the game to overtime.
Nick Chenard made 33 saves in the win, while Xavier Medina stopped 22 taking the loss. Windsor outshot Owen Sound 35-25 while going 1 for 5 on the power play; the Attack finished 1 for 4.
Next game for the Attack is a date with the Western Conference-leading London Knights (42-15-1-1) on Saturday night at the Bayshore Community Centre.
