The union representing Ontario’s french teachers has cancelled a province-wide strike set for tomorrow due to the forecasted weather conditions.
AEFO has 12,000 members in French-language elementary and high school across the province — including at École catholique Saint-Dominique-Savio in Owen Sound.
In a release on Twitter, AEFO says the cancellation of the strike is over concerns the safety of picket lines could be compromised because of forecasted conditions.
“This cancellation has nothing to do with bowing down to the demands of the government and the school boards, and everything to do with ensuring AEFO members’ safety on picket lines,” AEFO says in a statement.
