It’s another day of number crunching as West Grey Council and Department Heads go over the draft 2020 Budget one more time
Setting the budget says Mayor Christine Robinson is one of the most important tasks of Council.
A task and challenge that Robinson says West Grey Council is up to.
She says Council has a collective desire to advance West Grey and improve life for residents and business owners.
As such, she says the budget includes a focus on programs, services and infrastructure.
Robinson says Council is committed to providing valued services and programs to residents such as police and fire services as well as recreational programing.
In addition, she says Council is making infrastructure investments by improving bridges, roads and other municipal infrastructure.
Robinson says Council is working hard to put forth a fair and fiscally responsible budget.
After half a dozen budget meetings, Robinson says Council is getting close to finalizing the numbers.
If all goes as planned, Robinson says the 2020 West Grey budget could be finalized by today and come before Council for final approval by March 3rd.
