A glitch in the Bruce and Grey Community Safety and Well-Being Survey has angered some Saugeen Shores summer residents who feel they are not able to complete the survey as the first question asks them if their primary residence is in either Bruce or Grey Counties.
Community-Wide Survey Asks How Safe You Feel In Grey Bruce
If one was to indicate their primary residence is not in Bruce or Grey they're brought to the end of the survey.
If one clicks yes to indicate their full-time residency on the first question they're brought to subsequent questions asking about about year-round residence, etc, and can proceed.
In an e-mail Patricia Corrigan Frank of Saugeen Shores says “you're making a false (sic) statement in order to be able to complete the survey which isn't right.”
After being notified, Town of Saugeen Shores Clerk, Linda White says the Consultant is actively working to correct the glitch that causes the survey to skip to the end for non-permanent residents.
“It's important that we receive input from all residents of Saugeen Shores in the development of the Community Safety and Well-Being Plan,” she says.
White hopes the “glitch” is fixed so “others don't experience the same frustration”.
The Survey is open until March 22, asks people how they feel about their safety where they live, and what they think needs to be prioritized to create a safer, healthier community.
