The Hanover and District Hospital's employee flu vaccine campaign is being hailed a great success.
79% of all staff, physicians and volunteers rolled up their sleeves to receive their flu shot.
President and CEO Dana Howes is very pleased as the 79% vaccination rate exceeded the 75% target set out by the Hospital.
Last year 73% of staff and volunteers received their flu shot, making the latest statistics something to celebrate.
Howes suspects that part of the reason for the increase involves the fact that this flu season the Hanover Hospital partnered with Public Health to provide flu shots to the public on site.
She believes this helped promote and raise awareness about the value of receiving a flu shot.
Howes says she is very proud of staff and volunteers, as receiving a flu shot not only helps protect themselves but also patients.
